The annual pig roast will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at the NRAO picnic area. Signs will be up to show everyone the way. Everyone should start gathering around 2:00 pm with meal being served promptly at 4 pm.
As usual we are asking the ladies to bring a dish to share.
All who can help set up the picnic area please be there by 9:00 am as Brother Jim and Joey need help. We are also asking as many to stay and help clean up afterwards.
In accordance with the rules of Scottish Rite Clubs, there is to be no drinking since this is a family gathering.
We will be selling Scottish Rite Cookbooks at $12.00 ea. Selling chances on a Model 7 Predator Mossy Oak Bolt Action 22-250 Remington Rifle. Drawing will be on Sept. 30th at the Road Kill Cookoff. $1.00 each or 8 tickets for $5.00.
In memory of Brother Merle Kerr, 32nd KCCH. Brother Kerr is no longer with us but we type this because he truly loved reading this at all our Scottish Rite Flag functions.
“I have been the banner of hope and freedom for generation after generation of Americans. Born amid the first flames of American’s fight for freedom. I am the symbol of a country that has grown from a little group of 13 colonies to a united nation of fifty sovereign States. Planted firmly on the high pinnacle of American faith my gently fluttering folds have proved an inspiration to untold millions.
Men have followed me into battle with unwavering courage. They have looked upon me as a symbol of national unity. They have prayed that they and their fellow citizens might continue to enjoy the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness which have been granted to every American as the heritage of freemen.
So long as men love liberty more than life itself; so long as they treasure the priceless privileges bought with the blood of our forefathers; so long as the principles of truth, justice, and charity for all remain rooted in human hearts, I shall continue to be the enduring banner of the United States of America”.
