MASONIC HOME – Did you know that the Regulations have been changed whereby an applicant is not required to give up all his lifetime assets to be admitted to the Home? Yes, the following members of our Masonic Family may now come into the Home on a “pay as you go” basis. (1) A Master Mason and his wife. (2) The widow or child of a deceased Master Mason. (3) The daughter, sister, or mother of a Master Mason. Note: Those of sufficient financial assets may be required to pay a one time entrance fee. Interested Brethren may secure entrance forms from Box 869, Parkersburg, WV 26101. Thank you MW Paul Cottrell, PGM, for providing this update.
PENNY A DAY Brethren PLEASE SUPPORT your only approved Charity. It is the West Virginia Masonic Memorial Fund. It is supported by your giving through the Penny A Day program and your other gifts and Bequeaths . Give by placing donations with your Lodge Secretary, dropping money in the donation jars in your lodge, sending it directly to the HOME or the Grand Secretary also by remembering the Home in your Will. We appreciate what you have already done and hope you will continue or even do better this year. Bill F. Gardner, PGM
Carl F. Nestor fell sometime last week. He is unable to do much moving except when using a walker. He is pretty much home bound at present. He is a DGL, and was selected to receive the the Grand Royal Arch Distinguished Service Medal in 2000. Carl has been extremely involved in Royal Arch Masonry for many years. Carl in a very energetic and interesting young 87. Most of you know Carl is a prolific greeting card maker and sender.
Therefore, it would be great if each of you could send him a Get Well Wish or Thinking of You card to cheer him. Also, have your Chapter send him greetings. He has had an address change lately due to 911 addressing in Barbour County. His address now is 788 S. Main Street, Philippi, WV 26416. I’m sure Carl would really appreciate receiving your cards and letters or calls, or both. Remember your obligations. Shalom,
Marvin O. HIll

Harold, will you please let all the brothers throughout the state know that Master Masons may again park at Joseph W. Summers No. 173 for W.V.U. football games. Please remind them to leave their current DUES CARD on their dashboard so we will know not to tow them.
If brothers RSVP to let me know they’re planning to attend, and if there is enough interest, I may be enticed to prepare something to eat and drink. It’s a joy to be able to be hospitable, but I need to know how many to prepare for. RSVP by leaving a message on my cell phone.

15th Masonic District Golf Outing
Brethren, This is just a reminder to register as early as possible. This outing is open to all Masons, their family, and friends. Please pass this information to those who may not be on my email list.
The Sixth Annual 15th Masonic District Golf Outing will be held at Locust Hill Golf Course, 278 St. Andrews Drive, Charles Town, West Virginia on Saturday, September 13th, beginning with a shotgun start at 2:00 P.M. followed by a picnic at the course pavilion at approximately 6:30 o’clock. We will again be using a scramble format to enable all to participate. Each team must have at least two Master Masons. Please contact Chris Baun if you want to field a team with only one Master Mason. The cost will be $60 per golfer and includes golf, cart, range balls, picnic/buffet, and prizes. If you would like to play but do not have a team, please let me know as early as possible and we will see if we can place you with a team. You are permitted to bring your own soft drinks and water. A beverage cart will be on the course. Visit www.locusthillgolf.com for a virtual tour of the course. As was the case last year, family members and brethren who do not wish to play golf are encouraged to attend the picnic/buffet. For those attending the picnic only, the cost will be $12.00 per person. Please fill out the enclosed form and return to me with payment no later than September 8th. Also, I must know how many additional persons will be attending the picnic/buffet by that date. I will try to accommodate any last minute participants. Any lodge or individual who wishes to donate a door prize will be welcome to do so. I believe those who attended the previous tournaments have thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I hope that you will join us for a great day of fun, food, and fellowship.

It was mentioned tonight at our monthly meeting that Pennsboro #20 will hold our annual inspection on 15 November 2014 @ 13:00 with a banquet to follow at approximately 16:30. This will be a singular inspection as Pennsboro has been granted so to go it alone. As many of the Companions will remember, especially those who in other years attended our inspections, that Pennsboro was one of the top Commandrys in the state for many years. We are going to work very hard to bring that same acheivement back to Pennsboro. All Sir Knights and Ladies are invited.
