MASONIC HOME – Did you know that the Regulations have been changed whereby an applicant is not required to give up all his lifetime assets to be admitted to the Home? Yes, the following members of our Masonic Family may now come into the Home on a “pay as you go” basis. (1) A Master Mason and his wife. (2) The widow or child of a deceased Master Mason. (3) The daughter, sister, or mother of a Master Mason. Note: Those of sufficient financial assets may be required to pay a one time entrance fee. Interested Brethren may secure entrance forms from Box 869, Parkersburg, WV 26101. Thank you MW Paul Cottrell, PGM, for providing this update.
PENNY A DAYBrethren PLEASE SUPPORT your only approved Charity. It is the West Virginia Masonic Memorial Fund. It is supported by your giving through the Penny A Day program and your other gifts and Bequeaths . Give by placing donations with your Lodge Secretary, dropping money in the donation jars in your lodge, sending it directly to the HOME or the Grand Secretary also by remembering the Home in your Will. We appreciate what you have already done and hope you will continue or even do better this year. Bill F. Gardner, PGM
IF YOU KNOW OF THE ILLNESS OR DEATH OF A MEMBER, PLEASE INFORM THE WORSHIPFUL MASTER OR SECRETARY OF HIS LODGE, PLUS MYSELF. WE NEED TO REMEMBER OUR OBLIGATION DURING THESE DIFFICULT TIMES. PHIL
At our regular meeting tonght we discussed the proposal to have a memorial dinner (non-Masonic) for our late brother and friend Louie Elliott and his wife Emma as both have passed away in the last month. The initial discussion and plan is the advertise said dinner in local papers as well. As you know Louie was a very special person and Emma was always ready to supply pickles for any event. We are asking for advice in this project. A date can not be confirmed as of yet but we will have that information within the next week. I would expect sometime in early November once we can confirm a place locally.

Once again, Joseph W. Summers Lodge No. 173 in Morgantown will be offering FREE PARKING during WVU home football games. YOU MUST DISPLAY A CURRENT DUES CARD ON THE DASH OF YOUR CAR TO KEEP IT FROM BEING TOWED. Also, we will try to have the lodge facilities open with food and drink, certainly bathrooms. Should any lodge wish to use our facilities to sponsor a tailgate, please contact us through the usual means and we will make arrangements. This opportunity also applies to visitors from other Grand Jurisdictions.
