MASONIC HOME – Did you know that the Regulations have been changed whereby an applicant is not required to give up all his lifetime assets to be admitted to the Home? Yes, the following members of our Masonic Family may now come into the Home on a “pay as you go” basis. (1) A Master Mason and his wife. (2) The widow or child of a deceased Master Mason. (3) The daughter, sister, or mother of a Master Mason. Note: Those of sufficient financial assets may be required to pay a one time entrance fee. Interested Brethren may secure entrance forms from Box 869, Parkersburg, WV 26101. Thank you MW Paul Cottrell, PGM, for providing this update.

PENNY A DAY

Brethren we are about to start a new Grand Lodge year. We are therefore bringing to your attention the Penny A Day program. We continue putting emphasis on the Masonic Home Memorial Fund. Now is a good time to resolve to support the one recognized Grand Lodge Charity by putting our loose change in the containers placed in our lodges for donations to this program. Your Secretaries will be making their annual reports and will include your donations in the report to the Grand Lodge. We also urge each of you whether you are able to attend Lodge or not to support this Program by including a donation on your dues card. IT IS TRULY FOR A MOST WORTHY CAUSE! Thank you! Deford Lodge No. 88, 131 Fairfax Street, Berkeley Springs, WV, will be hosting a Social Dinner in our dinning room to benefit our Brother “Hoppy” Hovermale with his medical expenses.  The open dinner on Friday, October 28 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM (or until the food runs out) will be a free-will offering to help our Brother. If anyone would like to come out and practice before their inspection we would like to have them. We, like so many other commanderies are low on numbers and we would appreciate any help we can get. Charles W. Wise # 137 York Rite College will conduct an assembly on Saturary, Nov. 19 with a light lunch at 12 noon in the Masonic temple at 107 Hale Street, Charleston, WV.
A regular business meeting will be conducted starting at 1 pm. No degree work is planned.

As of right now, several WV DeMolays will be headed to Kentucky to attend KY DeMolay’s Fall Conclave on the weekend of Oct. 15th.
October: 29 – Clarksburg Chapter will hold an initiation in the afternoon (time is TBA), at the Clarksburg Masonic Lodge
29 – 7pm – 10pm, WV DeMolay (with Rainbow) is holding a Halloween Costume Dance at the Clarksburg Masonic Lodge

November: 12 – State Initiation, Time and Place TBA
