MASONIC HOME – Did you know that the Regulations have been changed whereby an applicant is not required to give up all his lifetime assets to be admitted to the Home? Yes, the following members of our Masonic Family may now come into the Home on a pay as you go” basis. (1) A Master Mason and his wife. (2) The widow or child of a deceased Master Mason. (3) The daughter, sister, or mother of a Master Mason. Note: Those of sufficient financial assets may be required to pay a one time entrance fee. Kanawha Lodge #20 is pleased to announce that all friends of Lewis Prather are invited to his 80th Birthday Celebration on Saturday, October 26th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Masonic Temple on the corner of Hale and Virginia Streets in downtown Charleston. A tour of this magnificent facility will be available. Free parking is available in the city parking building on Dickinson Street, one block from the temple. No presents, please. All we ask is your presence. Come and have some fun. Food will be provided.

The friends and family of Louie and Emma Elliott cordially invite you to a memorial dinner in their honor. It will be held at the Lions Club/Woman’s Club Building in Harrisville on Saturday November 16th, 2013. The event is planned so we can exchange fond memories and stories of two very special people who touched many lives and communities in and around Ritchie and surrounding counties. The event will start at 3:00 PM with dinner at approximately 4:30 PM. Anyone who would like to share pictures or stories of the Elliott’s will be given the time or space to do so. Please take this opportunity to fellowship and enjoy a time of remembering our special friends. Several people in the area are organizing this event and the dinner will consist of baked steak, ham, scalloped potatoes, sweet peas, Rolls, apple crisp and drinks. Everyone is welcomed and there is no charge, we are asking for donations only. Please mark this date on your calendar and we hope to see you there.

Once again, Joseph W. Summers Lodge No. 173 in Morgantown will be offering FREE PARKING during WVU home football games. YOU MUST DISPLAY A CURRENT DUES CARD ON THE DASH OF YOUR CAR TO KEEP IT FROM BEING TOWED. Also, we will try to have the lodge facilities open with food and drink, certainly bathrooms. Should any lodge wish to use our facilities to sponsor a tailgate, please contact us through the usual means and we will make arrangements. This opportunity also applies to visitors from other Grand Jurisdictions.

On October 26th, 2013 there will be a pulled pork BBQ for the benefit of the Childhood Language Disorders. Event to held at the Moose Club picnic grounds in Ranson, WV. The Scottish Rite of Martinsburg is sponsoring the BBQ. Tickets are $15.00 for adults, children 6-12 are $8.00 and under 6 are free. There is a playground next to the pavilions for the children to use. A Barbershop Quartet will be there to entertain. Please put this on your calendar and try to get your tickets before October 16th, so that we can have a head count. The Moose Club Picnic grounds are located off of old Rt. 9 behind and next to Guy’s Buick in Ranson as you enter from the west.

As a reminder, the Grand Master of Virginia is visiting Winchester Hiram Lodge this coming Tuesday at our stated Commandery Division #5 will not be having their inspection on October 12. It has been re-scheduled for January 11, 2014. Details to follow.
Morgantown Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, is sponsoring parking near the WVU stadium for WVU home football games. Located at 1000 Stewartstown Road Scottish Rite Building) off Rt 705, near the football stadium. Cost $20 per car. Proceeds benefit Chapter 35, OES.
