St. Bernard Commandery 120th Celebration
You are invited to a picnic!
St. Bernard Commandery, Knights Templar
is celebrating 120 years in Hagerstown!
We are inviting all Masons and their families to a celebratory picnic in the beautiful and historic Hagerstown City Park. The date is Sunday, June 22nd, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the South pavilion near the concession stand. We are having food, fellowship and fun and we are re-introducing ourselves to masons throughout Washington County. We are asking everyone who attends to bring a covered dish to share and to break bread with us. St. Bernard is supplying the meat and paper products as well as water to drink. If you have never been to the park then you and your family are in for a treat. Our beautiful park was just recently named as one of the most beautiful urban parks in the United States. There is playground near the pavilion as well as the beautiful duck pond. We are looking forward to meeting new friends and saying hello to old friends. Please RSVP to Sir Knight Gerry “Bear” Kendle at email@example.com or 301-991-1473 or our Recorder Sir Knight Terry Smith.

Please post on your e-mail the following INVITATION: At the request of Melvin ‘Pete’ Masters, Secretary of Bethesda RAC #16 in Middleway, WV: ALL RAM’s, Sir Knights, Priors, and interested Brethren ( which includes AASR members) are invited to the ‘hanging’ of the portrait of Past Grand High Priest Royal Arch Masons of West Virginia, David Morgan Smith on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Lodge in Middleway, WV (located at 105 East Street in Middleway). PGHP Smith has insisted that this be a ‘Casual Affair’ ( no suits, ties or tuxedoes) with ladies invited. It is planned to have the portrait revealed at the start of the event, to be followed by a ‘picnic type’ affair following. For those planning to attend, please contact Pete Masters by Friday, May 23rd, so that a ‘head count’ can be taken to insure enough food is prepared for the afternoon. For those traveling a long distance, a light ‘snacking’ will be prepared prior to 2:00 pm to get your hunger pains( blood sugar) under control.
It is hoped that the weather will be nice to provide some outside seating, but we will see how things work out (I’m sure other arrangements will be made in the event of rain).
It is hoped that a good turn out is made by our neighboring Companions throughout the Shenandoah Valley ( Winchester, Front Royal, Edinsburg, Luray, Warrenton, etc), since PGHP Smith has made several enjoyable visits to many of those Chapters, and considers them as a ‘part of home’. Brethern from other jurisdictions are also invited and encouraged to attend.
Please put May 25, 2014 on your calendar, and by all means call or leave a message with Pete Masters if you plan to attend by May 23rd
