Grand Master of Masons in West Virginia
MASONIC HOME – Did you know that the Regulations have been changed whereby an applicant is not required to give up all his lifetime assets to be admitted to the Home? Yes, the following members of our Masonic Family may now come into the Home on a “pay as you go” basis. (1) A Master Mason and his wife. (2) The widow or child of a deceased Master Mason. (3) The daughter, sister, or mother of a Master Mason. Note: Those of sufficient financial assets may be required to pay a one time entrance fee. Interested Brethren may secure entrance forms from Box 869, Parkersburg, WV 26101. Thank you MW Paul Cottrell, PGM, for providing this update.
PENNY A DAY
Brethren A new calendar year starts this week-end and it is dues time. As we pay our dues let us remember the Masonic Home and include a donation to the Masonic Home Memorial Fund. A “PENNY A DAY” IS GOOD BUT A LARGER DONATION IS BETTER IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT. Also, remember the donation container in your Lodge where you can drop your change or even a Bill if you care to do so. There is no limit to what you can donate! Thank you for your support of the Masonic Home Fund. Fraternally, Bill F. Gardner, PGM
IF YOU KNOW OF THE ILLNESS OR DEATH OF A MEMBER, PLEASE INFORM THE WORSHIPFUL MASTER OR SECRETARY OF HIS LODGE, PLUS MYSELF. WE NEED TO REMEMBER OUR OBLIGATION DURING THESE DIFFICULT TIMES. PHIL

Mannington 31, annual oyster feed. March 3, serving starts at 5pm. This fraternal fellowship is always the 1st Saturday in March. Lodge at 7pm, honoring Past Masters. Mannington’s oysters are known far and wide as “the best.” I don’t eat oysters (as R J Aronhalt says – it’s a “non-food item) and I’m sure other lodges feel the same about their table. Don’t shoot me, I’m just the messenger.

On Wednesday, March 7, The Potomac Highlands WWII Roundtable meeting will be on “Freemasonry in WWII”. The meeting will be at the Morris Frock American Legion on Northern Avenue in Hagerstown. The meeting is free and open to the public and starts at 7 pm. Dinner, at your own expense, is available prior to that. The regular menu will be available along with their all-you-can-eat fried chicken dinner for only $7.99. You should plan to arrive between 5:30 and 6:00 pm if you are eating dinner there.
Brother John Dubbs, a Mason from Harrisburg, PA and a WWII re-enactor, will be speaking about Masonic interactions during WWII between Nazi’s and Americans as well as between Japanese and Americans. This program should be very interesting.
