Grand Master of Masons in West Virginia
MASONIC HOME – Did you know that the Regulations have been changed whereby an applicant is not required to give up all his lifetime assets to be admitted to the Home? Yes, the following members of our Masonic Family may now come into the Home on a “pay as you go” basis. (1) A Master Mason and his wife. (2) The widow or child of a deceased Master Mason. (3) The daughter, sister, or mother of a Master Mason. Note: Those of sufficient financial assets may be required to pay a one time entrance fee. Interested Brethren may secure entrance forms from Box 869, Parkersburg, WV 26101. Thank you MW Paul Cottrell, PGM, for providing this update.
PENNY A DAY
Brethren we are about to start a new Grand Lodge year. We are therefore bringing to your attention the Penny A Day program. We continue putting emphasis on the Masonic Home Memorial Fund. Now is a good time to resolve to support the one recognized Grand Lodge Charity by putting our loose change in the containers placed in our lodges for donations to this program. Your Secretaries will be making their annual reports and will include your donations in the report to the Grand Lodge. We also urge each of you whether you are able to attend Lodge or not to support this Program by including a donation on your dues card. IT IS TRULY FOR A MOST WORTHY CAUSE! Thank you! Fraternally, Bill F. Gardner, PGM.
IF YOU KNOW OF THE ILLNESS OR DEATH OF A MEMBER, PLEASE INFORM THE WORSHIPFUL MASTER OR SECRETARY OF HIS LODGE, PLUS MYSELF. WE NEED TO REMEMBER OUR OBLIGATION DURING THESE DIFFICULT TIMES. PHIL

I attended a Stated Convocation of Montgomery Chapter No. 47 and they elected to sponsor a Mini School of Instruction for the 8th Capitular District to be held on Saturday morning, September 10th. They will gather around 8:30 AM with the School to start at 9:00 AM. The plan is to work on the opening a Chapter, balloting, dispensing, and the Past Masters Degree. Also time will be allowed to answer individual questions and do some one-on-one coaching. Following the School, lunch will be served. Paul will be sending notices to the Chapters in the 8th District and to other interested persons. We hope to have a good turn out for this as the Dias officers are required to attend a school. Others will be welcome although they would like to get a head count to be able to prepare the lunch. If you can go, let Paul Cottrell know.
