Grand Lodge of West Virginia A.F.&A.M. Officers for 2012; Schools of Instruction
I left Tuesday’s session of Grand Lodge during the lunch break and do not have a list of appointments, etc… but I can report the following:
Most Worshipful Grand Master….Charles A. Louk
Right Worshipful Deputy Grand Master….Gearl G Raynes
Right Worshipful Senior Grand Warden….Owen G Bragg
Right Worshipful Junior Grand Warden….Sam McDonald Ash
Grand Treasurer….M.W. Paul V Cottrell, PGM
Grand Secretary….M.W. Gregory A Riley, Sr., PGM
Motions increasing the insurance from $20,000 to $100,000 for the Grand Treasurer and Grand Secretary were approved. I don’t know what it’s called in the Masonic world, but in my former profession it was called errors and omissions. The Grand Secretary reported it was to insure the Grand Lodge against misappropriation of funds.
A $10 increase in Grand Lodge per member annual dues was approved as follows: $5 this year and $5 next year.
A motion to allow, with the permission of the local lodge Worshipful Master, use of the lodge hall by a select list of appendant bodies (for example DeMolay) was rejected. Wor. George Jackson, who made the recommendation, explained the current status of building usage will remain unchanged (for example, York Rite bodies).
A motion to allow the Order of the Eastern Star Worthy Patron to also serve simultaneously as lodge Worshipful Master was approved.
