Peterstown, WV – John Edwin Hall age 90 of Peterstown, WV passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital, Pearisburg, VA. Born July 11, 1920 at Green Sulphur Springs, WV he was the son of the late Gratton William and Ida Hoke Hall. John was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran, a member of the Peterstown Baptist Church where he had served as Deacon, was retired from the Celanese Corp after 46 years of service, was a member and current Worshipful Master of the John Dove Lodge #78 A.F. & A.M., Past District Deputy Grand Master of the 7th Masonic District, a member and Past Patron of Peterstown O.E.S., Chapter #118, a member of the Poff-Cunningham VFW, Narrows, VA, member of the Athens Chapter #26 R.A.M., member of the Hinton Commander #12 and a member of the Peters Valley AARP. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna B. Miller Hall. Survivors include two nephews, Larry Hall and wife Anna of Peterstown, WV, and Austin Hall and wife Norma of Dublin, VA; one niece, Gay Laferty and husband Claude of Milton, WV; several great nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Margaret Williams of Pearisburg, VA. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, April 11, 2011, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Jennings officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow at the Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Rich Creek, VA. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the funeral home where an Eastern Star memorial service will be conducted by members of Peterstown Chapter #118 O.E.S. at 5:30 PM.
