HUBERT GLEN CLINE, 80, of Wayne, W.Va., died Monday, August 9, 2010, at the Huntington VA Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2010, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Matthew Stepp. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Wayne. He was born December 31, 1929, in Wayne, a son of the late Clarence and Hazel Ross Cline. Hubert was a retired high lift operator for Owens-Illinois and a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Korean War. He was also a member of the Big Creek Baptist Church, was a 32nd Degree Mason, Wayne #18 AF&AM and a member of the Huntington Scottish Rite Bodies. Also preceding him in death was his first wife, Verla M. Cline; three brothers, Willis Gene Cline, Ted F. Cline and Ronnie M. Cline; a grandson, Jonas Hayden McCloud; and a daughter, Evelyn McCoy. Survivors include his loving wife, Bertha Moore Merritt Cline; five daughters, Tara Cline McCloud and husband Jason of Grayson, Ky., Elaine Shannon and husband Ed of Elgin, Ill., Rhonda Childers of Kenova, W.Va., Deborah Merritt of Wayne, Myra Stewart of Catlettsburg, Ky.; a son, Robert “Buddy” Fannin and wife Carletta of Lavalette, W.Va.; seven sisters, Mildred Cline of Wayne, Lucille Eagleston of Florida, Pat Lucas of Upland, Calif., Emma Gay Banks of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Geraldine Daly of Charleston, S.C., Eva Quackenbush of Lake Forest, Ill., Zella Adkins of Russell, Ky.; two brothers, Clarence Ray Cline of North Carolina and Darrell Cline of Wayne; five grandchildren, Sarah Shannon, Zachary Childers, Paige Childers, Paxton McCloud, Parker McCloud; a great-grandson, Carson Childers; numerous step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a very special nephew, Tim Cline; and two close friends, Rush Moore and Leopold Maynard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne.
