Harman A. Falls, 87, of Union, WV, passed away Wednesday evening, July 14, 2010, at his home following a long illness. Mr. Falls was born at Willow Bend, WV, July 29, 1922, a son of the late Walter D. and Lillie McPeak Falls. He was a retired employee of the West Virginia Department of Highways having worked as a supervisor, a charter member of the Union Memorial Baptist Church at Union, a 50-year member of the Monroe Lodge No. 77 AF & AM, a Ronceverte Chapter No. 21 Royal Arch Masons, Greenbrier Commandery No. 15 Knights Templar, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Beni Kedem Shrine Temple AAONMS, Greenbrier Valley Shrine Club, Monroe County Shrine Club, Union Chapter No. 122 Order of the Eastern Star and Gap Mills Ruritan. Mr. Falls was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Lillian Meadows, Odessa Davis, and Emma Wiseman, and by his twin brother, Harold Falls. Surviving are his wife, Mary Irene Church Falls of Union; 2 daughters, Patricia Hawkins and her husband, Rev. Dr. Clarke Hawkins, of North Garden, Va., Sharon McDonald and her husband, Gene, of Troy, Va.; a son, Terry Falls of Milford, Del.; 3 stepchildren, David Engler and his wife, Julie, Carol Ratta, Jason Engler and his wife, Cathy, all of Toledo, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, Rachel and Victoria McDonald, Joshua and Campbell Hawkins; 12 stepgrandchildren and 4 stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010, at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union with the Rev. Mark Shafer and Rev. Dr. Clarke Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at Keenan. Friends may call at the Groves Funeral Home in Union from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Masonic Graveside Rites will be conducted by Monroe Lodge No 77 AF & AM.
