Death of George C. Sellars

Greorge C. Sellars passed away peacefully February 10, 2013 in his Harrison Township home surrounded by family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Brenda (Gerds) Sellars: his loving children Barbara Saylor ( husband David Saylor) and Paul Sellars (wife, Tammy Johnson Sellars): his dear grandchildren Benjamin, Thomas and Claire Saylor: his sister-in-law Beverly (Crain) Sellars: and nephews/nieces Mark Sellars, Lynne (Sellars) Robbins, Bruce Sellars and Wendy Sellars. George is the son of the late George and Anna Sellars and the brother of the late Dr. Harry Sellars DDS. George was a stellar athletet and a graduate of Edwin Denby high school. He entered college at Eastern Michigan University, and left early to serve in the US Army. George then attended Wayne State University and finished his degree at Detroit Institute of Technology. He worked 34 years in marketing at Michigan Consolidated Gas Company. Besides his family, George’s greatest pleasure was his life long involvement in the “Freemasonry ” organization where he achieved honors too numerous to mention from around the world. His most recent position was as the Most Puissant General Grand Master of the General Grand Council of Cryptic Masons, International. Visitation will be at A.H. Peters funeral Home 20705 Mack Ave At Vernier, Grosse Pointe Woods on Tuesday, February 12 from 1-9 pm. A Masonic service will be held at 8 pm on Tuesday evening. Funeral service Wednesday 12 noon February 13th in the A.H. Peters chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given in George’s memory to Masonic Pathways charitable Foundation 1200 Wright Ave. Alma, MI 48801 or The Leader Dog for the Blind (10395 Rochester Road, Rochester Hills, MI 48307).
