Garland F. “Hoople” Withrow, 88, of Winfield, formerly of Melbourne, Fla., was called home Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at his home, following a short illness.
Garland lived in central Florida for 47 years before returning home to West Virginia following his retirement as an electrician from Pan Am Corporation. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served his country during World War II. He was a 60-year member of Kanawha Valley Lodge No. 36 AF&AM, Buffalo, a 32nd degree Mason, Scottish Rite Bodies, Beni Kedem Shrine Temple and York Rite Bodies.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Eloise Sigman Withrow; sons, Paul Withrow and David (Teresa) Withrow; daughter, Patricia Grayson; grandchildren, Emily (Chad) Snyder, Dana (Anthony) Harmon, Crystal Withrow and David (Jody) Pauley; great-grandchildren, Sebastian Poole, Destiny Snyder, Jestin Snyder and Syrus Withrow; sister, Garnett “Babe” Witt; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, Lodge brothers and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Raynes Funeral Home Eleanor Chapel with Pastor David Panaro Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in New Antioch Cemetery with military graveside honors and Masonic graveside rites.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at Raynes Funeral Home Eleanor Chapel.
