Death of David Dean Gray

David Dean Gray, 71, of South Charleston, died June 18, 2014, at home after a short illness.

David was a United States Navy veteran. He was a former truck driver and was retired from the shipping/receiving department of Maxum Petroleum Products in Poca with 19 years of service. David was a member of South Charleston Lodge No. 168 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies and Beni Kedem Shrine, Charleston.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Alta Meadows Gray, and his daughter, Christina Matheney.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sarrah Gray; grandchildren, Brittany Matheney and Courtney Matheney Frame and her husband, Paul; great-grandchildren, Matthew David Frame and Abbigail Lynn Frame; son-in-law, Jimmy Matheney, all of Rainelle; sister, Peggy Gray of Victor; and brothers, Pat Gray of Victor and Mike Gray of Ansted. David is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A service to honor the life of David Dean Gray will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston, with the Rev. James Patrick Gray and the Rev. Dave Peters officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.

Family and friends will visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
