Death of Dale Edwin Cross

DALE EDWIN CROSS, MSGT, USAF (Ret.) age 73 of Manassas, Virginia died Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at his home.

Mr. Cross was a life member of Fraternal Order of Police, life member of NRA, life member of Korean War Veteran Association, life member of American Legion and a life member of V.F.W. Post #1811, Manassas Park. He was also a member of Manasseh Lodge No.182 A.F. & A.M., Manassas, Haymarket Lodge No. 313 A.F. & A.M. and Royal Arch and Knight Templar. He was a 1977 distinguished graduate of Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Glyco, Georgia, a graduate of 8th Air Force Senior N.C.O. Academy and a 1962 certified SAC Command Post Air Traffic Controller. His latest employment was Clubhouse Sports Bar and East to West Embroidery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi S. and Frances J. Cox Cross.

Survivors include his best friend for 49 years, Carolina H. Cross, one daughter, Patricia Ann Marcum and husband, Enoch, other loved ones, Jason Marcum and family, Mark Butler and family and Lesa Turner and family; his son, Dale Edwin Cross, Jr. and his daughter, Alexis Cross, his son, Robert Alan Cross, six sisters, Ellen Sparks, Lelah Allbaugh, Dorothy Wilkinson, Carolyn Manley, Katherine Harris and June Cubbage, one brother, Marvin L. Cross and numerous extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 P.M. Monday, December 29, 2003 at Price Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas with a VFW service at 7:00 P.M. and a Masonic memorial service at 7:30 P.M. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at the funeral home with Pastor H.G. Leach officiating. Interment will be held at Humeston Cemetery, Leon, Iowa. Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Farhat, Mazen Farhat, Edward Qura, Jacob Qura, Jack Qura and Naper Qura, and Jack Russo, my pheasant hunting partner, benefactor and Nebraska traveling companion.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 699, Vienna, Virginia 22183-0699 in memory of Dale Cross.
