Mr. Charles Willard Zickefoose, Sr., 94, of 217 ½ Buena Vista Avenue, Clarksburg, WV, passed away at 8:50 P. M. Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV, following an extended illness. He was born November 2, 1919, a son of the late Freeman M. Zickefoose and Mary Elizabeth Johns Zickefoose.

His wife, Luella Pearl Hinkle Zickefoose, whom he married August 16, 1947, preceded him in death November 2, 2012.

Surviving are:a son & daughter-in-law; Charles W. “Chuck” Zickefoose, Jr., & wife Brenda, Clarksburg, WV, one daughter; Susan Nutter, Lost Creek, WV, a son-in-law; Ronald Sandy, Akron, OH, three sisters; Donice Tenney, Ellamore, WV, Annabelle Hoover, Tallmansville, WV & Joanne Maher, Bristolville,OH ten grandchildren & spouses, Kathy Moneypenny, Melissa & Bob Errington, Matthew & Amy Sandy, Kristi Childers, Amanda Nutter, Beth & Matt Wright, Jeremy Zickefoose, Josh & Jennifer Zickefoose, Emma & Shawn Taylor & Sarah Zickefoose, sixteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

He was also preceded in death by: a daughter, Barbara Ellen Sandy, three brothers; George, Harold & Elmer Zickefoose, two sisters; Kathleen Carpenter & Lurene Tenney, a son-in-law; Larry Chester Nutter, and a grandson-in-law; James “Jimbo” Childers.

Mr. Zickefoose attended the Oak Mound Evangelical Church. He was a Master Mason with 51 years membership in Clarksburg Lodge # 155 A. F. & A. M., where he had served as Worshipful Master & thus was a Past Master 6 times over the years. He was a 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason with membership in Clarksburg & Wheeling Valleys. He had served his country during World War II in the U. S. Army as a Tech. Fifth Grade in the 252nd Quartermasters Pack Troop in Burma & India. He had been employed as an electrician at Anchor Hocking Glass Company retiring in 1981, after many years of service.

Friend may call at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main Street, Clarksburg from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 P. M. on Wednesday, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 at 11:00 A. M. with the Reverend O. D. Harman presiding. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Masonic brothers will meet at the funeral home at 10:30 A. M. for the purpose of conducting Masonic Graveside Rites. Full Military Graveside Rites will be accorded by the Lewis County & the WV Honor Guards.
