Charles Edward CallicoatCharles Edward Callicoat, 64, of South Point, Ohio passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at St. Marys Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born February 2, 1948, the son of the late William Jarvy and Mary Strank Callicoat. Charlie was the Lawrence County Emergency Management Emergency Communications Director, the Lawrence County Emergency Planning Committee, Drill Planning and Training Committee Chairman, a member of the Proctorville #550 F & AM Masonic Lodge, a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, a former member of the York Rite of Freemasonry, and the El Hasa Shrine, and Past President of the El Hasa Shrine Oriental Band. He served in the United States Army, was a ham radio operator, a Kentucky Colonel, a NRA Certified Firearms instructor, and involved with the Boy Scouts of America. He is survived by his beloved cat Inky, best friends Mike Love, Butch Peyton, Jim Harvey, Mike Boster, Mike Nimmo and Beverly Miller, among many other close friends and brothers, and caregivers John and Jerrie Goodwin. A Masonic service will be conducted at the Proctorville Masonic Lodge #550 F & AM Tuesday evening, May 1st at 7:00pm and is open to all friends and family. Religious services will begin May 1, 2012 at Noon at the funeral home. Interment will be at Docks Creek Cemetery.
