Around the Temple – March 10, 2012

I want to make a special invitation to each of you to visit Huntington Lodge #53 next Saturday as we honor our past masters. The ladies of Huntington Chapter #8 Order of the Eastern Star will be preparing the dinner, so that means we will have GREAT biscuits in addition to the basic meal. I understand WM Roy Ramey has a fine speaker for the occasion. Your ladies are invited. We do ask that you try to call our Secretary, Paul McComas, if you plan to come just so we can have a close count for the star.

I had the pleasure of attending Putnam Lodge #139 last Tuesday. I heard one of the finest returns of the second degree catechism I have ever heard. Unfortunately I didn’t get the brother’s name. I’ll try to have it next week.

Join the members of Warm Springs Chapter #53 on Thursday 15 March 2012 for a unique evening honoring Companion and Sir Knight Vernon D. Youngblood. MEGHP Raymond Lusk and REGC Ed Ball will visit the Sixth Capitular District for a dinner meeting hosted by Warm Springs Chapter #53 in Berkeley Springs. No work is scheduled but 50 year service awards for both the Chapter and Commandery are to be presented to Companion and Sir Knight Vernon D. Youngblood. A meal is planned for 6:00 p.m. and there will be plenty to eat. Anyone needing a ride should contact Louie Youngblood.

SICKNESS AND DISTRESS: I have been informed thatJuanita Beckett, the mother of Brother Bill Smith of Hamlin, is seriously ill with Stage 5 Kidney Failure.
