Death of Jeffrey K. Estep

Jeffrey K. Estep, 55, died Monday, November 15, 2010 at his home in Green, Ohio, with his loving wife and family by his side.

Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma “Sue” Estep of St. Albans.

He leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Debbie Estep of Green, Ohio; father and step-mother, Keith and Kitty Estep of Hurricane; his brother, wife, niece, and nephew, Alan, Kim, Kaitlyn, and Nathan of Apex, N.C.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Juanita and Jim Cunningham of Charleston; brother-in-law and his wife and family, Mike and Rene Goodwin and their four children of Killeen, Texas; and his brother-in-law and his wife and family, Bobby and Oreta Cunningham and their three children of Charleston.

Jeff was a graduate of St. Albans High School, and a graduate of West Virginia University. He was thrilled during his senior year to be a student manager on the WVU football team. He was always a true Mountaineer fan.

He was a vice-president at First Merit Bank in Akron, Ohio, where he was a dedicated employee, trusted boss, and respected peer.

Jeff was a survivor of melanoma in 2003, but discovered three months ago that it had metastasized to his brain and lungs. He co-chaired the survivor events for Relay for Life in Canton, Ohio, and was always generous with his time. He was also a Mason, and belonged to Washington Lodge No. 58 in St. Albans.

Jeff said he had “no regrets” in his life. He said that he had been a true and faithful husband, a loving son and brother, loved his life and friends, and that he knew he had another job waiting for him…being a guardian angel to his family and friends. Jeff was right; he was all those things and more to those who were blessed to know him. May God greet him with open arms and prepare him for his new profession. We will always love and miss him very much.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 19th, at Cooke Funeral Home Chapel 2002-20th St., Nitro, with the Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Burial will follow the service in Graceland Memorial Park South Charleston with Masonic graveside rites provided by Washington Masonic Lodge No. 58 of St. Albans.

Friends may call one hour prior to service on Friday at the funeral home in Nitro.
